Are Exceptional Bilingual Copywriters in Arabic/English a Myth or Reality?

I see a lot of posts and requests to write copy in both English and Arabic.

Finding an excellent copywriter is challenging enough in one language. To find one that can copy bilingually is next to impossible.

Can a native Arabic-speaker write English texts if they can also speak English?

Of course, they can.

But will it be as good, fluent, and as professional as texts written by a native English speaker?  No.

Likewise, can a native English-speaker write Arabic texts if they can also speak Arabic?

Probably. But it will most likely fall short.

Here’s why:

1.) You need an extensive vocabulary to be able to spice things up. The bilingual will have a broad vocabulary and more likely do not have the same depth of vocabulary in any one language as a monolingual speaker. This is due to having divided their language learning efforts across multiple languages.

2.) Arabic isn't easy to write. There are subtle differences between words that only a native Arabic writer can spot. Additionally, the copywriter may feel experience linguistic challenges and feel constrained by their need to write in multiple languages, limiting their ability to be as creative as they would like to be.

3.) Culture understanding and the use of colloquialisms is completely underrated. There is always a risk that a bilingual copywriter may make a cultural blunder in their writing because it's difficult to fully understand the nuances of a culture that you weren't completely immersed in or is not your own.

The audience that reads the Arabic will most likely think differently than the ones who read the English, and copy has to be adapted for both target audiences.

While there are distinct advantages to speaking another language, language itself evolves over time with new words and phrases to coincide with the changing world we live in. A bilingual has the difficult task of trying to keep up and understanding these changes.

If you’re willing to sacrifice quality in either, then sure you will find a bilingual or bilingual copywriter to do the job, with many “tip-of-the-tongue” moments.

Lucky for you, I offer Arabic copy by native Arabic speakers and English copy by native English speakers.

So you don't have to waste time and money looking.
